In a symposium highlighting NERI’s contribution to the study of health and sexuality, John McKinlay, Principal Investigator on the MMAS and BACH studies, gave an overview of the epidemiological issues surrounding the studies’ design and execution, and a summary of work in practice. Andre Araujo, Varant Kupelian, Karen Lutfey and Thomas Travison then presented work focusing on a range of topics including incident androgen deficiency in older men, the association between androgens and erectile dysfunction (ED), the relationship between abuse and female sexual dysfunction and the use of PDE-5i treatment for ED in older men.
