Rebecca Li, PhD

Dr. Li joined NERI in 2006 and is the Vice President of Clinical Research. In this role, Dr. Li manages NERI's clinical research operations, all aspects of the company’s clinical trials, registries and related initiatives as well as developing NERI's clinical trials service. In addition, Dr. Li serves as the PI of TOPCAT, a global Phase 3 Heart Failure trial involving 4500 patients and over 200 clinical centers sponsored by the NHLBI. Prior to her role as Vice President of Clinical Research, Dr. Li served as Principal Research Scientist and Clinical Director at NERI.

Before joining NERI, Dr. Li spent 14 years in the private sector, most recently at the Director level at Wyeth Research working in the Translational Research Department. In that position, Dr. Li coordinated efforts to incorporate pharmacogenomics into clinical trials. While at Wyeth Research, prior to her joining the Translational Research Department, Dr. Li led a preclinical lab group in the Discovery department focused on orthopedic tissue engineering.

In addition to her career in the private sector she has maintained an active adjunct Associate Professorship at Brown University in the department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Biotechnology. She continues an exceptional publication record of first-authored papers, presentations and abstracts as well as senior and co-authorships of book chapters. She has a doctorate from Johns Hopkins in the area of Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering.
