NERI is developing a software service to support rapid development of randomization systems for medical research. Called Verandi, it is a highly configurable system that supports simple, permuted block and minimization allocation methodologies. Verandi supports commonly used enhancements to these methodologies, such as institutional balancing, biased coin and randomly chosen block sizes, which allow the researcher to apply the most appropriate techniques to their particular randomization needs.
