About NERIKey Staff Bios > Ramses Sadek, PhDRamses Sadek, PhD Dr. Sadek's responsibilities include managing the Biostatistics, Data Management, and Information System Departments. In addition, he is a co-Principal Investigator for the Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Research Network and the Virology Quality Assurance Network. Prior to joining NERI, Dr. Sadek has had extensive experience in clinical trials research and team leadership. He worked as a senior director of statistics and data management at the American College of Radiology, where he led the work on oncology clinical trials. His 11 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) included work as a team leader for Anthrax Vaccine and Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (1999-2001), Team Leader for the Epidemiology Branch Statistics Team for HIV Prevention (2001-2007) where he led the statistical work on eight international clinical trails, mother-to-child transmission, and HIV behavioral, vaccine, and epidemiology studies. In the mid 1990’s Dr. Sadek, worked as an Epidemiologist at the Special Pathogen branch at National Center for Infectious Diseases where he participated in the Ebola outbreak team (Zaire, 1995), the LASS fever (Sierra Leon), HANTA virus (4 corner states, US), to mention a few. He also served as a senior biostatistician at Mallinckrodt, Inc. where he worked on diagnostic imaging trials and bioequivalence studies. In addition, he served as an assistant professor at Cairo University, the American University in Cairo, and as an adjunct faculty at the University of Georgia. Currently, he holds adjunct professor appointments at Georgia Southern University, College of Public Health, and an adjunct scholar at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Sadek has broad volunteer activities. He has been an active member of DIA where he serves on the editorial board of the Drug Information Journal, member of two data monitoring boards, an invited speaker, and journal reviewer. He holds a PhD of Statistics and Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. He has publications in several peer-reviewed journals including, The American Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Infectious Diseases, The Journal of the American Medical Association. |
