The Safe Driving and Your Older Patients program is relevant for physicians and other health care professionals (e.g., nurse practitioners, physician assistants, optometrists) working with older adults and their families. The specific learning objectives of the program are:
The program includes six chapters, including 1) The Driving Dilemma; 2) Evaluation; 3) Successful Communication; 4) Medical Conditions and Driving; 5) Medications and Driving; 6) Legal Considerations. Each course maximizes use of Web interactive features, such as case studies, questions and answers with immediate feedback, photographs and audio, interactive charts and tables, hyperlinks to cited references and videotaped expert commentaries. The program has been approved for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™ by the Boston University School of Medicine. CE credits are provided upon successful completion of the online CE test.
